Julie Necklace

This is the final opportunity for you to order the beautiful necklace that will benefit my fund: The Preschool Scholarship Fund. Please, order today. $20 of your order will go directly to the fund. That’s a whole lot of help for families in need.

Growing up is already so confusing when everything is new, everyday. We all know children need comfort, routine and repetition in their lives to remain calm and relaxed, as well as to be able to learn and grow.

When a family is in need, one of the first things to go is a child’s education. And while the family is suddenly dealing with the stress of a lost job, a personal or public tragedy, the children sense and are directly affected by that change. At these times, repetition and comfort are most important to that child.

The Preschool Scholarship Fund (at our local preschool) will offer an opportunity to help these children to have the repetition and comfort they are so in need of, by helping to continue their preschool education, even when their families can’t afford it.

By purchasing this necklace or earrings, exclusive to Just Precious, you are directly helping these children to stay in their school, to continue their comfort and to have the continuity in their routine that they helps them succeed, while things are troubled at home.

I am donating 100% of proceeds from sales of the WISH necklace or earrings to the Preschool Scholarship Fund. The OpenSky Project is doing the same. For every necklace sold, the fund is receiving $19.98.

This promotion ends tomorrow. Please, do not delay. Order your necklace today.

Julie Necklace

Purchases of this WISH necklace will help fund a new preschool scholarship fund. Up to $39.96 will be donated per necklace (a minimum of $19.98 will be donated.)

Finally! After all this waiting, I’m so excited to introduce the WISH line by Just Precious and Hip Fusion. Buy your own gorgeous piece(s) for you, your friends, your daughter, your mother… You’ll love it for the hip color, the vibrant message, and the knowledge that 100% of the proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund that I’m helping to begin: one that will provide preschool tuition for families who hit hard times and aren’t able to afford it. This scholarship will allow the children to have a safe, comfortable place when family life may be stressful. What’s more, The OpenSky Project is matching my 100% donation. And, if I sell the most pieces among the other bloggers competing in the OpenSky Charity Fusion campaign, OpenSky will double my total donation.

OpenSky Charity Fusion will operate from June 21 through 28, so, please, don’t delay your purchase. Buy your WISH piece(s) today to include your purchase in the charitable competition.

The necklace retails for $50 and the earrings are $20. For each necklace purchase, $19.98 will be donated to the fund; the earrings will earn $6.32.  If more WISH necklaces and earrings are sold than the others in this competition, the preschool scholarship fund will earn $39.96 per necklace purchase! The earrings will raise $12.64. Can you imagine how helpful your necklace and earrings will be to a child? Both are great, but if I had to suggest one, go for the necklace. Its substantial looking, a real conversation piece.

Julie Earrings

For every pair of earrings purchased, over $6 will go towards helping a child's education and comfort.

I also want to add that Hip Fusion Design guarantees her work and offers a lifetime guarantee. That said, the clay used and fused to make the stamped components (the WISH circle) is organic material. Each of the circles is cut and stamped completely by hand and is intended to look handcrafted and individually made. Because of this, characters and images are not machine-aligned and slight imperfections and impressions are expected and intended. Of course, that’s totally the “in” style right now, so I know that’s what you’re looking for. Finally, expect about a 2 week turnaround from when your order is placed. Of course you should order the jewelry now so that its included in the charity.

Did I mention that I want you to purchase the jewelry now? Right now? Please?

Julie Necklace

In yesterday’s post, I shared my necklace sketches with you all and today I’m sharing the final pieces. Oh my goodness, I’m so excited.

I sent pictures of several of my designs on to Neida who used her design magic to create the ultimate WISH necklace that will benefit a local preschool scholarship fund.

The WISH necklace and earrings will be available for purchase on Monday, June 21. All of my proceeds from sales of the WISH necklace will benefit my cause: creating a scholarship fund at a local preschool that will assist current families who hit rough times to continue to make their tuition payments, so that the children won’t be as affected, and can still have the safety and comfort they need to continue. OpenSky will match my donation and, if I se

ll the most pieces among all the bloggers selling jewelry for Charity in the OpenSky Charity Fusion promotion, OpenSky will match my donation again, doubling my totals.

Notice a change? That’s right. I increased my donation. Originally I was going to donate 25% of my proceeds, but am so very excited about my cause that I am increasing it to 100%. Therefore, I will not be recieving

any payments for sales of this necklace and earrings, ever. I would much rather the school help the children, than I make a few extra  dollars.

precious-picks-120As many of you know, I used to own an e-boutique. For 5 years it was my “me thing.” It was what I did. In addition, of course, to mothering and wifing and writing and blogging and PTOing and…

I had wanted to run a boutique since I was in college when I worked in a Greek/University store. I loved the social relations. I loved the creativity of dressing windows. I didn’t even hate inventory and shipping.

So, when Big was about 13 months I was looking for something to do. I mean, life was easy back then. I wasn’t working. Big slept 3-4 hours a day and I could only clean and do laundry and make dinner for some of that time. Plus, after being baby-life-crazy-focused for all the other hours of the day, I needed something for me. It was time to live a dream.

My goal, in forming Precious Personalities, was to create a boutique for hard-to-find items. My first two products were viral in their popularity, but once they were sold to the mainstream I moved on to find other hot products.

That was the best part of boutique-ing, you know? Getting to shop for others. I loved going to the shows in New York to find products and then buying them for others.

Fast forward to the present and with 3 kids, as much as I loved boutique-ing, I wasn’t in it. My heart, I mean. Shipping took too much time. Paperwork was a bear. I had to cut back. And I chose to cut the boutique (though, officially, Precious Personalities hasn’t been shut down. I still have stock taking up space in a basement closet. Want something?) It wasn’t an easy decision, but things are going for me in a lot of directions and, I mean, I have 3 kids now, you know?

So, I cut the boutique. And in doing so, I realized what I probably already knew: my favorite part of boutique-ing is shopping for others. Then, I heard about The OpenSky Project. OpenSky allows me to have a boutique where I pick the items I want to sell, set up my own store and sell them to you, my favorite customers. Then, after you place your order, I don’t have to do the work. I don’t keep the records. I don’t worry about shipping or inventory or any of that. I get to do my favorite part of boutique-ing, they get to do the work I don’t love, and you get my fine-eye for parenting and children’s products that are, just as they were in Precious Personalities, good enough to have and use in my home, and unique enough that you won’t find them at Target.

Introducing Precious Picks by Just Precious. Go. Click. Shop. There are only a few products right now, just like there were only 2 products when I first opened Precious Personalities. But it will grow. I’m going to wait to find the right products for my readers. The unique ones. The ones that you want to gift and get.

I also ask you to let me know what you think. Tweet me, e-mail me, comment to this post. Do you have new products that I need to carry in my shop? Do you want to work on a promo with me? I’m all ears and eyes (and typing fingers) over here. Even if you aren’t wanting to shop right now, please let me know your thoughts.

Whatever happened to… Precious Personalities?!

December 23, 2009

This week, while checking out Just-Precious’ stats, I noticed a large number of searches related to Precious Personalities. And it reminded me that I haven’t blogged about good ol’ PP in a while. Because. Its not there. Go ahead. Click on it. Owning and managing a boutique was a dream for years. And when Big was about [...]

Plum Party! Celebrating the Frugal Fun of the Upcoming Holiday

November 20, 2009

Last night  my post was rather bah-humbug about Grey’s episode, so today I’m flipping my seasonal excitment. I’m becoming mildly excited. I still don’t like celebrating the holidays before Thanksgiving, but I certainly get the stresses of holiday preparation. So absolutely anything that makes it go easier needs to be shared. Take, for instance, my [...]
