While at Sleep Innovations' Get Rejuvenation party last month during SheCon, I was offered an exclusive interview with Olympic Medalist, swimming sensation and fantastic mom, Dara Torres, who is the spokesperson for the Get Rejuvenation pillow. I am so impressed: Dara's a natural, honest, beautiful woman and a real mom who is absolutely dedicated to her daughter, her health, and sharing with others. Her three pillars in life: sleep, eating and exercise, help her to live a balanced, healthy … [Read more...]
Healthy Living
For a while, I’ve recognized the importance of all around wellness. We all know that to have a healthy, balanced life, we need to start the day with a healthy breakfast, continue through two more well-rounded meals and a healthy snack, or two, during the day, and get fair amounts of exercise. And, if you’re an active reader of my blog, you also know that I’m a firm believer of me-time equaling wellness. Oh my goodness. Traveling without children: I survived
Last week, I posted about my fear of traveling without my children. I'm grateful for all of the feedback, advice and virtual hugs. Unfortunately, none of it worked, but I don't think any of the respondents actually expected it to. The night before I left for the Yahoo! Motherboard Summit, I cried. I cried to myself. I cried to my husband. I picked up the phone about 7 times, ready to apologize for not being able to come. My stress affected my husband. He finally told me he was offended by my … [Read more...]
Family Communication: Highs/Lows
I have this friend therapist. She suggested a fabulous idea that helps to teach families to communicate. It also helps children, and often parents, express their feelings and learn more about ways to deal with emotions. We call it High/Low. Image by Jane Costa Lima via Flickr Each night at dinner, we take turns sharing our high and low points of the day. Also known as favorite and least favorite, thumb up or thumb down, and best and worst, everyone is asked to share on their turn. Even the … [Read more...]
